Elias S. Myers

I'm a journalist and writer from San Francisco, California. I graduated from UC Berkeley in May 2026 with a degree in History and Public Policy, concentrating in late twentieth-century Californian industrial history.

I'm currently reporting for ChicoSol, a non-profit newsroom covering Northern California. At ChicoSol, I've been covering law enforcement, immigration, and surveillance. My work can be found here.

At Berkeley, I served four years on the Berkeley Political Review, where, as Editor-in-Chief, I significantly grew the publication's daily readership and managed a large editorial staff.

My reporting and writing focuses on politics, labor, and California — particularly the economic history of the Bay Area, deindustrialization, and the growing elusivity of the American Dream.

I'm currently hyperfixated on how artificial intelligence will reshape the American economy. Please reach out with your thoughts on the permanent underclass. Besides that, I'm also thinking about:
